Encouraging Learning and Development in SMEs.

From 1 September 2020, SME employers can (again) apply for a grant for the learning and development of employees. With the SLIM scheme, the employer can receive a financial contribution to get career advice for employees, to keep the skills of the staff up to date or to establish a business school. The aim of this scheme is to stimulate learning and development in SMEs.

Financial contribution SLIM scheme

With the SLIM scheme, employers receive a financial contribution to screen the company, get career advice for employees, set up a learning-work environment, keep staff skills up-to-date or to set up a business school.

What can the SLIM scheme be for?

The review of the company resulting in a training or development plan aimed at providing insight into the training needs from the perspective of the company;
Obtaining career or development advice for employees in the company;
Supporting and guiding in the development or implementation of a method in the company that stimulates employees in the company to further develop their knowledge, skills and professional attitude during work; or
Offering apprenticeships for some time for the benefit of vocational training or part thereof in the third learning path at a recognized work placement company.
