A facilitator is commissioned by an organisation to work in (usually) the public sector or a Triple Helix cooperative alliance. They are a professional organiser who is sent ahead to make preparation for something entirely new.
When we serve as facilitator, we start by clearly defining a problem or need. Next, we prepare an idea, develop it further, bring parties together, ensure a decision is made and set up the practical implementation.
A Vindsubsidies facilitator:
- Organises the interrelations with various tasks within a cooperative alliance;
- Takes charge in order to realise the intended goal, project or process together with the cooperative partners;
- Brings the cooperating parties together;
- Translates the goals and results from the assignment into a programme that includes a structured overview of actions and projects, a schedule and a clear division of responsibilities;
- Identifies the connections, interrelations and dependencies between projects and with other processes of the cooperative partners;
- Focuses on progress during the start-up phase and the handover to the cooperative partners, realises goals and reminds people of their responsibilities;
- Is responsible for establishing connections with the rest of the organisations. Involves important components and stakeholders in the development and substantiation of projects and products and places responsibility where it belongs;
- Periodically reports about the programme's progress during the start-up phase;
- Can have their finger in many pies at once and reach clear agreements with a wide range of partners.
