Demonstration Energy and Climate Innovation - DEI +

What is DEI+?

DEI+ is short for Demonstration of Energy Innovation (Demonstratie Energie-Innovatie), and is aimed at entrepreneurs focussed on reducing CO2-emissions or on investing in renewable sources of energy, such as wind, solar, or geothermal. If this sounds like your business, then you can file for this grant for pilot projects, demonstration projects, or combinations of both.

Types of DEI+ projects:

There are 3 types of projects eligible for DEI+, namely:

demonstration projects: projects aimed at taking CO2-reducing measures using devices, systems, or techniques that are new to the Netherlands, or which apply devices, systems, or techniques in a manner that is new for the Netherlands.
a pilot: a project which involves testing an experiment product, procedure, or service, with the main goal of developing and implementing additional technical improvements to products, procedures, or services.
A combination of a demonstration project and project consisting of experimental development in some other form than a pilot.

Available and potential DEI+ funding

In 2022, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency has made no less than € 58.6 million available for DEI+. Entrepreneurs can receive between 25% and 80% of costs eligible for subsidy, up to a maximum of € 15 million per project.

When to file for DEI+

DEI+ applications can be submitted between 9am on 1 April 2022 and 5pm on 4 October 2022. The budget for this scheme is currently empty (June 2022).

Applying for DEI+

If you want to apply for DEI+ for financial support for your project? Then submit your application to the Netherlands Enterprise Agency RVO. Your proposal is assessed and ranked by independent experts. If your application is ranked as approved, and if there is still budget available, then you will receive a grant. Note: the 2022 budget is empty.
